Target Receipt Lookup is a free online tool from ReceiptMaker.org. Target keeps in-store receipts ~1 year and online orders ~2 years in your account. How to find, view, and print any Target receipt — official steps. Use cases include replacing lost personal receipts, props for film/TV/social-media content, bookkeeping practice, and creative projects. Generated receipts are for personal records and novelty only — never for fraudulent returns or expense fraud. Available at https://receiptmaker.org
Target archives receipts automatically — if the purchase can be tied to you. Per Target's official in-store receipt help page, in-store transactions appear in your account within a few hours and stay available for roughly one year, while Target.com purchases remain available for about two years. The catch is how you paid — here's the full picture.
Open the account tab → Purchase history → choose the order → Receipts → View. Returning something? Select Return an item / Return options and show the barcode at Guest Services — no paper needed.
In-store purchases are matched to your account through one of: a card associated with your Target.com account, the Wallet in the Target app scanned at checkout, or a phone number registered with Target Circle entered at checkout. Per Target, purchase details are not available for transactions paid with an unlinked Target GiftCard, check, or cash — unless Wallet or your Circle phone number was used at the register.
At checkout you can request a printed or gift receipt; Guest Services can issue a gift receipt from your original receipt before it expires, and accepts the app's return barcode for receipt-based returns. For anything else, Target Guest Relations is at 1-800-440-0680.
A cash purchase with no Circle phone number is genuinely gone from Target's side. Card statements prove the payment amount and date. If you need a legible copy for your own files — budgeting, warranty, expense folder — recreate it with our free Target-style receipt generator: enter the store, items, and totals, export a clean PDF, and file it with the statement. For returns, only Target's own records count.
